About Maya Lindqvist

Certified instructor, eternal student, and the founder of Brookhollow Educators — a small yoga school with a simple idea: everyone deserves a teacher who actually sees them.

My story

Ten years of teaching, one simple philosophy

I took my first yoga class in a draughty church hall and spent most of it wondering if I was doing everything wrong. Nobody corrected me, nobody welcomed me — and I nearly never came back.

Brookhollow exists so that never happens to you. Every class here is capped at fourteen students. I learn your name, I watch your practice, and I adjust the class to the room — not the other way round.

  • 500-hour certified teacher (Yoga Alliance) with additional training in restorative yoga.
  • First-aid trained and insured, with specialist experience in beginners and returners.
  • Weekly classes, seasonal retreats and one-to-one sessions from our neighbourhood studio.

How I teach

Clear cues, honest modifications

You will always know what we are doing and why. I demonstrate, I offer two or three versions of every pose, and I never ask a room to do something I would not do myself.

Expect strong foundations over flashy shapes — and a class that ends with you breathing slower than when you arrived.
