What Iyengar entails
Expect detailed instruction, longer holds and generous use of props. A single standing pose might be explored for ten minutes from five angles — feet, knees, pelvis, shoulders, gaze — until your body memorises the shape.
This methodical approach makes Iyengar ideal for careful beginners, older students, and anyone working around stiffness or old injuries. Progress is structured week to week, so you always know where you stand.

What's included
The most prop-rich class on our schedule — and the most personal corrections.
Prop library
Blocks, belts, bolsters, chairs and wall ropes adapt every pose to your proportions.
Sequenced syllabus
A six-week rotating syllabus, so standing poses, inversions and restorative weeks each get focus.
Individual corrections
Small groups mean hands-on (consensual) adjustments and personal homework poses.

I'm very stiff. Will I cope?
Stiffness is exactly what Iyengar is for. Props bring every pose within reach, and flexibility builds quickest when alignment is correct from day one.
Why are the classes 75 minutes?
Precision takes time. The extra fifteen minutes allow proper warm-up, longer holds and a full restorative cool-down without rushing.
Do I need my own props?
No — the studio holds a full prop library, including chairs and wall ropes. If you fall in love with the practice, the shop stocks our recommended blocks.
